Aus FIRA-AER wird Rugby Europe

 Das neue Logo des europäischen Verbandes Rugby Europe Der europäische Rugby-Verband FIRA-AER hat sich einen neuen Namen sowie ein neues Logo verpasst und seine Internetdomain entsprechend angepasst. Künftig heißt es statt des sperrigen Fédération Internationale de Rugby Amateur - Association Européenne de Rugby kurz und prägnant Rugby Europe. Und auch die neue Internetadresse ist entsprechend angepasst - sie lautet: rugbyeurope.eu.
Hier die Begründung des Verbandes für das Facelifting:
"During its 92nd General Assembly currently held in Split (Croatia), FIRA-AER (Federation Internationale de Rugby Amateur - Association Europeenne de Rugby) voted in favor of changing its name to the much simpler, more representative and easy to grasp 'RUGBY EUROPE'.
This is the first step of a more complex process of rebranding the European rugby organization and reshaping its commercial strategy in order to acquire more visibility, give it a clearer and sharper identity, hence make it more attractive for the sports market.
This new Rugby Europe revolution was imagined and started by its current President, Octavian Morariu (Romania), who is also an IOC Member."
