... http://blogsport.gsp.ro/costin...-romanesc/ In Romania, the story goes out quickly. But the case is absolutely shocking and deserves to be resumed. In short: Octavian Morariu, the former president of the Romanian Rugby Federation, is now president of the European federation, Rugby Europe Rugby Europe delegates Romanian referees to match Belgium - Spain 18-10, decisive for qualification in the World Cup in Japan As a result of the total unexpected result, the Romanian national qualified before Spain. In the end, the Spanish players wanted to assault the Romanian judges, accusing them of helping Belgium on the face According to English journalists with decades of rugby experience, Romanian referees have "killed Spain" through their decisions One of the referees is Radu Petrescu, chairman of the Romanian Rugby Federation Arbitration Commission That is, an important employee of the FRR was sent by the European Force led by the former FRR president to referee a match that ruled that FRR would send the national to Japan Sir Clive Woodward, the legendary coach who took the world title with England in 2003, wrote on Twitter that he was shocked by what he saw and that the Romanian refereed match should be replayed The International Federation, World Rugby, has announced that it will investigate the delegations made by the Morariu-led forum Imagine now that it was happening to us to miss the qualification before Spain after the decisions of Spanish referees, including a top employee of the Spanish federation. Is not it now all over Romania, scandalized by the Iberian conspiracy? That's why the case is almost unbelievable, but it has something in it that reminds of the real haudecous stories with referees from the time of the Romanian Football Cooperative. Rugby defenders will jump as burns, using the blued board with the "gentleman's hooligan sport", while football is just over. Here, however, it smells of a serious conflict of interest between the gentlemen. The FRR's reaction, which, through President Alin Petrache's voice, accuses the aggressiveness of the Spanish players against the referees, without a word about the delegation made by the forum led by Petruche's friend and mentor, Morariu. Undoubtedly, the violence of the Spaniards is inadmissible, and the Madrid federation has apologized for that. But how could the Bucharest Federation accept the delegation of some Romanian referees to a match in which the fate of the FRR patronage was at stake? Contact Gazette, the referees refused to comment. Octavian Morariu could not be contacted. Rugby sources say, however, "incredible pressure from all sides to the referees after the Brussels game." In Spain, rugby fans and journalists launched the slogan #JusticeforSpain (Justice for Spain), and almost all major rugby journalists from the world, from New Zealand to England, took over the hashtag and wrote about the case of the Romanian referees. Morariu is accused of corruption, and the Spaniards use against him an investigation of Gazeta published last year in the series "Malta Files". Romanian President of Rugby Europe is caught in a conflict of interests obviously because of his presence in the ownership of an offshore company in Malta that sells TV rights owned by the federation he is leading! There is no proof yet that the company in which Morariu appears will benefit directly from the presence of Romania at the World Cup in 2019. But it is obvious that the Romanian Federation, an important member of Rugby Europe, will get financial gains from qualifying for the final tournament in Japan. In the last decade, FRR was probably the sports federation in Romania with the best picture. The case of the referees destroyed in just 80 minutes, as long as Belgium - Spain 18-10. In Romania, image damage does not feel so loud due to media relaxation. On the outside, however, the reputation of Romanian rugby was simply sprayed, and the case is far from being closed. Do not you think? Join Twitter and look for #JusticeforSpain. You will be horrified. |
