Marius Pudzianowski, ehemals der stärkste Mann der Welt, wechselt zurück zum Rugby

Der Pole Marius Pudzianowski, der sich in den Jahren 2002 bis 2008 insgesamt fünfmal zum stärksten Mann der Welt krönen konnte, versucht sich nach einem erfolgreichen Ausflug zum MMA (Mixed Martial arts) erneut im Rugbysport.

Der mittlerweile 35-jährige Koloss (185cm und 145kg) hat in dem knallharten Kampfsport insgesamt 8 Fights bestritten (5 Siege, 1 Unentschieden, 2 Niederlagen), ist aber auch im Umgang mit dem ovalen Leder nicht gänzlich unbedarft.

"Pudzian" so der Spitzname des Kraftprotzs, der zum Frühstück schon einmal gerne 10 Eier und 1,5kg Schinken vertilgt, spielte zuvor gelegentlich für den RBP Budowlani Lodz, einen Amateurverein in der höchsten polnischen Spielklasse (TotalRugby berichtete).

Ans Licht kam Pudzianowskis Rugby-Comeback kurioserweise durch einen Tweet von Ex-Weltspieler Shane Williams, der über den Kurznachrichten Dienst Twitter die frohe Kunde in die Welt zwitscherte: "Congratulations @AmmanUnitedRFC in securing the signing of this guy for next season ", lautete der Tweet des Walisiers der mittlerweile seine Brötchen in Japan verdient.

Inzwischen hat auch der walisische Drittligist Amman United, Heimatclub von Shane Williams, den prominenten Neuzugang bestätigt, ebenfalls über Twitter vermeldeten die Briten: " he has officially signed for season 2013".
